How I Do It.
It’s been an interesting couple of years for Seigfried Designs starting out as a fledgling website provider, moving into Search Engine Marketing and expanding services to what they are today.

In 2003 Seigfried Designs started as a part-time job for me, financed mainly by family and friends who needed websites or knew people who needed websites. At the time Dial-Up Modems were the main way people were accessing the internet and that meant that websites had to load quick and not be bogged down by multimedia. Tons of pictures was out and the pictures that you did use had to be ‘optimized’ to load fast. Video was a painful process and not worth slowing your website down with, as were complex Flash animations.

Things have changed a lot since those days and Seigfried Designs has stayed ahead of the technological trends with studious research and practical application. New ways to write code for websites, browser requirements, an increase in bandwidth speed, the possibilities of video and multimedia, as well as huge growth in the search engine marketing industry have fueled a boom in business with websites. Everyone now days either has or needs a website, it’s replacing Yellowpages as the first place people look for goods and services.

The Future.
Creating new Stardards for Web Service Providers is a key goal for Seigfried Designs. The reputation of ‘webmasters’ and ‘online advertisers’ is fraught with horror stories that reflect poorly on everyone in the digital economy. Building trust starts by adhering to a Code of Standards that dictates what is appropriate and inappropriate when creating and developing web services. Currently no such code exists and so we are left with the ‘wild west syndrom’ of service providers. This is not good for our business and it’s not acceptable to our clients.

Educating businesses on how to approach online marketing and using their website to leverage sales is paramount. Most of the people who need a website have trouble using their email so it’s incredibly important to bring business up to speed on what is ‘good service’ and who is trying to take you for a ride. Fads and trends come and go and you need to know what you should be taking advantage of and what is a waste of time.

Online Local Business Networks are the cornerstone of community advertising online. Businesses are looking to get their services and products out to regional areas; the problem is that most cities and neighborhoods don’t have a website. Through various research and experimentation Seigfried Designs created WsquareW.com as a pilot program for community website development. It’s our hope to export this idea to the rest of Philadelphia’s neighborhoods and then on to the suburbs.
